This imaginative and slightly surreal painting by Von Tipton plays on the theme of deception and duality through anthropomorphized playing cards. A regal, weary King stands at the forefront of his card, adorned in red and gold with a heavy crown and scepter. But behind him, partially hidden yet grinning slyly, is the Joker—emerging from his own card with a mischievous, almost sinister glee. The Joker's exaggerated features and vibrant green-and-purple outfit contrast sharply with the King's somber expression and stately attire.
Two large fingers hold the cards, adding a human presence to the symbolic power play between authority (the King) and chaos (the Joker). The artwork evokes questions about power, illusion, and who really controls the deck.
Presently this is only available as a 8.5" x 11" paper prints for $50 or $20 for a 5" x 7" paper print. I will be making canvas wraps soon
